Android Developer
To develope Centrl's mobile application for the Android.
- Expert knowledge of Java
- Experience in developing mobile applications
- Familiarity with the Android platform, and its general parameters/limitations
Blackberry Developer
To develop Centrl's mobile application for the Blackberry.
- Expert knowledge of Java
- Experience in developing graphical applications on the Blackberry
- Creativity, advanced engineering/debugging skills and comfort with the limitations and capabilities of the Blackberry platform
Server Engineer
To prepare Centrl for a larger user-base and expanded features.
- Expert knowledge of PHP and a PHP-Caching framework (e.g. eAccelerator)
- Expert knowledge of MySQL, replication with multiple slaves, and backup/restore procedures
- Expert knowledge of Linux, Apache
- Experience with MemCached
- Experience with load-balancing
- Experience with Amazon EC2, S3 and Persistent Storage
- Experience with highly-scalable web services
Front-End Javascript Engineer
To work on Centrl's web client, which has a highly-flexible dynamic framework.
- Expert knowledge of (X)HTML/CSS with focus on browser consistency and semantic markup.
- Expert knowledge of W3C standard
- Comprehensive understanding of the DOM
- Experience with designing, building, debugging, and maintaining large-scale Javascript applications
- Nuance understanding of Javascript performance issues
- Extensive knowledge of a JS Framework (currently we us YUI)
- Experience with Firebug
- A big plus if you have experience with API's (Google, Facebook, MySpace and OpenSocial)
Director of User Experience
A challenging position that will require alot of creativity to address the usability of Centrl's web client and mobile applications. The reward will be seeing your work work used daily by millions of people.
- Experience designing A/B Testing templates
- Experience with multi-platform web applications (web & mobile)
Graphic Designer
To design the look & feel of the Centrl website and mobile application for the iPhone, Blackberry and Android.
- Experience designing icons and logos for the web
- Experience designing for virtual worlds, social-networks, and user communities on the web
- Experience designing themes (ex. sets of graphics/icons) for websites
Intern — Technology
A paid internship to help with our website's backend operations as well as community management. Hours are flexible, and there's plenty of work to last through the Spring '09 semester and possibly into the summer.
- Experience with (X)HTML/CSS
- Experience using the Website Analytics package
- Experience with Google Apps
Intern — Copywriter
A paid internship for writing copy for our updated website and mobile applications. Hours are flexible, and there's plenty of work to last through the Spring '09 semester and possibly into the summer.
- Strong command of the English language and grammar
- Good familiarity with various aspects of website copy (including FAQ, Instructions for Use, etc.)
- Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
